María Isabel Pineda

• About the Artist •

Pointillist artist, Montreal.

Bio

Maria Isabel Pineda is a Honduran pointillist artist based in Montreal.

After twenty years as a graphic designer and university professor, she discovered pointillism in October 2023 and committed fully to her artistic practice in 2024.

She works with extra-fine acrylic-pigment markers on heavyweight paper, building each piece through the patient accumulation of thousands of intentional dots. Her work explores contemplative landscapes touched by surrealism, inviting a slower, more attentive way of looking.

She exhibits in Montreal, most recently as part of the Exposition Estivale 2026 at Galerie Wip, and her work is available internationally from her atelier.

Approach

Originals only

Each piece is one of one. No prints of original works. When prints are made in the future, they will be designed for that purpose and the original will not be sold separately.

Three commitments

Conservation grade

Every work is delivered ready for archival framing, with materials selected for longevity: 100% cotton mat, museum glass, solid hardwood frame.

Direct relationship

Collectors acquire directly from the atelier or through the galleries that represent her. Each acquisition begins a conversation.

Atelier

The atelier

Her studio is in Montreal, where she also teaches design at the university level. Studio visits are available by appointment for serious inquiries.

Companion

In residence at the atelier:

Pomi, the studio companion who watches every dot get placed.
